Florida has the same holidays as the rest of the United States. Most are rooted in America's history, including Independence Day and Martin Luther King Day. Post offices and other public institutions are closed on this day. The restaurants and stores are sometimes closed or use alternative hours. They also celebrate the most famous Christian holidays such as Christmas and Easter. Unlike some European countries, they celebrate only one day, Boxing Day, Easter Monday and Whit Monday are no holidays.
